Sasha Grynyuk To Give Wigmore Hall Recital

The Keyboard Charitable Trust has announced Sasha Grynyuk as the fifth recipient of its annual prize winners concert at London’s Wigmore Hall, to be held on 21 March.

The Ukrainian pianist was described by Charles Rosen (who sadly passed away in December) as ‘an impressive artist with remarkable, unfailing musicality, always moving with the most natural, electrifying and satisfying interpretations’. Grynyuk’s recent competition wins include First Prize at both the BNDES Piano Competition in Rio de Janeiro and the Grieg International Piano Competition in Bergen. He was awarded the Guildhall School’s (where he studied) most prestigious award – the Gold Medal – whose previous recipients have included Jacqueline Du Pre and Bryn Terfel. He has also had occasional collaborations with Alfred Brendel and Murray Perahia

The Keyboard Charitable Trust was launched in 1991 with the aim of bringing talented young keyboard players before an international public, in international locations. By developing both new performing opportunities and new audiences, the Trust has ensured that some of the most promising keyboard players of their generation have been given a helping hand in their performing careers. An impressive and highly supportive group of Trustees include Claudio Abbado, Alfred Brendel, Sir Clive Gillinson, Leslie Howard and Noretta Conci-Leech.
