To Be A Keyboardist Or Not To Be A Keyboardist?

Keyboard players have featured in many bands over the decades but is this now a dying breed?

Some of the greatest bands in history have had a keyboardist among them from rock and metal bands to pop sensations. But it would appear that as each decade has passed this musician has been becoming a bit of a rarity.

The high point of keyboards would have to be the 80’s, with great acts such as A-ha, Pet Shop Boys, Ultravox and Howard Jones. Yet if you look at today’s acts, there now seems to be more piano players then keyboardists.

We at My Piano Lessons think that there will always be a place for a keyboard player in music but what do you think? Leave your comments below.
