Sparks Confirm Last Stripped-Down Dates
Sparks will bring their stripped-down live show back to the UK for one last tour in November before starting work on their 23rd album.
The trek is entitled The Revenge Of Two Hands One Mouth and follows on from the success of last year’s series of performances.
Ron played keys while Russell sang, and the pair made no use of additional musicians or computers. The results were hailed as among the best live shows of the year and as “a feat of stamina and courage.”
The Maels say: “Having been so moved by the overwhelming reaction and support throughout Europe to our Two Hands One Mouth tour last October, we have decided to do one more go-round in the duo format.
“For those who saw the first incarnation, we promise to keep the intensity up, the two-hands, one-mouthiness up, the no-computeriness up, and also perform a bunch of tunes not played on the original tour.
“For all virgins, please enjoy for the first time our two hands and one mouth.”
It’s likely to be their final outing in the format – they’re planning to return to the studio next year to create the follow-up to 2009′s The Seduction Of Ingmar Bergman.
