Renowned pianist at King’s Lynn Festival
The King’s Lynn Festival is kicking off its winter season with the welcome return of a pianist who made his London debut at the age of 13 before performing all over the globe.
Tom Poster has carved out a high-profile career since making his concert debut and has since appeared with orchestras including the London Philharmonic, China National Symphony Orchestra, the European Chamber Orchestra and the Macau Orchestra.
He has given solo recitals at the Barbican Hall and St John’s Smith Square, in Hamberg, Paris and the Channel Islands, and at festivals in Chester, Windsor, Brighton and Italy.
He will play works by Chopin, Schubert, Grieg, Ravel, Liszt at the concert on Friday, November 15.
The next concert will see award-winning Korean-born British violinist, Joo Yeon Sir, joined by her duo partner, Russian-born pianist Irina Andrievsky, on February 7 to perform music by Beethoven, Brahms, Franck and Ravel.
There is also an upcoming talk by author and photographer Kari Herbert about some of the world’s most famous polar explorers from the perspective of the women who inspired them to achieve great things.
The series concludes on Friday, April 4, when the Berkeley Ensemble Trio, leading young musicians from London, present music by Beethoven, Brahms and Max Bruch.
All events will be at 7.30pm at St George’s Guildhall at Lynn Arts Centre.
