Fleetwood Mac Keyboardist Wants To Rejoin The Band

Looks like a mini reunion might be in the works for Fleetwood Mac in the future. The band has been touring around the country playing their greatest hits, but it looks like one member is ready to rejoin the band. Christine McVie, the longtime keyboardist of Fleetwood Mac has been bitten by the bug yet again, and is looking to join fellow band mates.

Back in September, Christine McVie surprised fans by joining the band during their O2 Arena in London after departing the Fleetwood Mac in 1998 for her retirement. McVie was so adamant about her retirement that even singer Stevie Nicks thought she would never return to Fleetwood Mac, but it appears the keyboardist has now had a change of heart.

In an interview with the Guardian, Christine admitted that she wants to join the band again after departing nearly fifteen years ago after she helped build a powerful legacy for 28 years.

“I like being with the band, the whole idea of playing music with them. I miss them all. If they were to ask me I would probably be very delighted … but it hasn’t happened so we’ll have to wait and see.”

It sounds like Christine will have to wait a bit longer as the band has just announced that they will have to cancel their upcoming 14-date tour. On Fleetwood Mac’s Facebook page they announced due to John McVie’s recent diagnosis of cancer and subsequent treatment:

“Fleetwood Mac who has just completed the European leg of their phenomenally successful worldwide tour has announced the cancellation of their upcoming 14 date tour of Australia and New Zealand.”

The notice continued:

“John McVie, one of the co founding and original members of Fleetwood Mac is now scheduled to be in treatment for cancer during that period of time. We are sorry to not be able to play these Australian and New Zealand dates. We hope our Australian and New Zealand fans as well as Fleetwood Mac fans everywhere will join us in wishing John and his family all the best.”

If you’re a Fleetwood Mac buff then you know that Christina McVie was married to John McVie from 1968 until 1977.

Hopefully one day fans of Fleetwood Mac will see Christina join the remaining members on stage once again.
