Denis Kozhukhin, Russian Pianist, to Perform at SPAC
Young Russian pianist Denis Kozhukhin, a rising star on the global concert circuit, will perform next Aug. 23 with the Philadelphia Orchestra at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center, SPAC has announced.
Awarded first prize in the 2010 Queen Elisabeth Music Competition in Belgium, Kozhukhin took third in the 2006 Leeds (England) International Pianoforte Competition. In this past, he’s drawn positive reviews for his interpretations of the Rachmaninoff Second Piano Concerto (“a glorious interpretation,” wrote the Herald Scotland in October) and Prokofiev’s “War Sonatas.”
Program details for the Aug. 23 concert are not yet announced. Tickets will go on sale in February to SPAC members, in March to the general public. For more information, see www.spac.org.
