Pianist Jason Rebello to Appear at Rye Jazz Festival

Pianist Jason Rebello will be appearing at this years Rye Jazz Festival on Saturday 23rd August.

Jason has played to crowds of thousands of people on stage with Sting and Eric Clapton. But he still relishes performing in more intimate venues where he can establish a direct connection with the audience.

Jason’s appearance at this year’s Rye Jazz Festival is a real coup for the event.

He toured with Sting for six years, recording three albums with him and has also played with former Yardbird Jeff Beck.

Jason Rebello was inspired by the playing of jazz fusion master Herbie Hancock.

He came to prominence when jazz legend Wayne Shorter produced his first album.

“It was like a dream,” recalls Jason.

Despite his subsequent success Jason is still intent on taking his music to new places and refining his art.

His performance at Rye will include an eclectic range from his back catalogue and tracks from his latest and much acclaimed new album Anything But Look.

He will be performing with his trio at Rye, and special guest singer Joy Rose, who Jason has known for years.

“Having Joy there provides an incredible dimension,” said Jason, who added: “I am really looking forward to coming to Rye.”

The Jason Rebello Trio with Joy Rose perform at Rye on Saturday August 23. To book, and for more information visit www.ryejazz.com.
