Jazz Pianist Diana Krall Headed to The Grand
After Elvis Costello’s recent performance at The Grand, it has been announced that Costello’s wife, Grammy Award-winning pianist/singer Diana Krall, will also be performing there.
Krall, whose most recent release was 2012’s T-Bone Burnett-produced “Glad Rag Doll,” will bring her tour to Wilmington Nov. 24 for an 8 p.m. show.
Krall’s 12th studio album, “Wallflower,” is set for Sept. 9 release via New York-based Verve Records.
The album is full of cover songs that have inspired Krall, especially early in her career. Songs include The Eagles’ “Desperado,” Bob Dylan’s “Wallflower,” Harry Nilsson’s “Everybody’s Talkin’,” Mamas & the Papas’ “California Dreamin’,” Elton John’s “Sorry Seems to Be The Hardest Word” and a new composition by Paul McCartney, called “If I Take You Home Tonight.”
Krall last performed at The Grand in April 2013.
