Cuban Pianist Wins Music Contest in Portugal

Young Cuban musician Daniel Rodriguez was the winner of the superior category of the Contest of Prizes to Young Musicians, in Portugal.

The award guaranteed the 20 year-old interpreter his participation in the finals to obtain the prize Young Musician of the Year, in September.

In his presentation, the young musician was accompanied on the second piano by his father, prestigious Cuban pianist Victor Rodriguez, winner of the 1986 Tchaikovsky Prize.

The contest, considered to be the most important of its kind in Portugal, includes several instrumental disciplines.
