Why Steve Ferrone has switched from Logic to Tracktion Software
Tracktion Software Corporation, or TSC, was formed in 2012 to acquire, update, market and support the Tracktion Music Production software platform. The company’s three principals, Julian Storer, James Woodburn and Dave Christenson largely focus on technical, operational and marketing duties respectively. As the original creator of the highly intuitive software platform, Storer was able to provide Tracktion with a completely new digital audio engine to be both compatible with user projects completed on previous versions as well as all of the latest computer operating systems, third party plug-ins and controller hardware.
Tracktion Software Corporation is pleased to announce the release of an extraordinary album, Steve Ferrone & Friends Live, which was recorded, mixed and mastered entirely with Tracktion 5 Music Production Software. The performance was recorded in Ribeauvill, France and features a stellar line-up of musicians including renown bassist Franck Bedez. “The extraordinary talents and enthusiasm of these local musicians blew me away,” commented Ferrone. “The resulting concert was just too good not to share with those unable to attend.” The recording was mixed and mastered on Tracktion 5 by Antony Bedez at Studio Musifrance.

He has recorded and toured with many of the world’s top acts including Average White Band, Duran Duran, Alan Parsons, The Bee Gees, Tom Petty, Scritti Politti, Brian May, Anita Baker, George Benson, Jonathan Butler, Bryan Ferry, Climie Fisher, Eric Clapton, Christine McVie, Peter Frampton, Jeff Golub, Rick James, Whitney Houston, Chaka Khan, Freddie King, Tracy Chapman, Pat Metheny, Marcus Miller, Morrissey Mullen, Dick Morrissey, Jeffrey Osborne, Paul Simon, Bernie Worrell and Jaco Pastorius.
“I’ve used Tracktion since Version 3 and was previously a maniac ProTools, Sadie and Logic user,” explained Antony Bedez. “Tracktion saves so much time when it comes to common engineering functions especially editing, I knew it was the best choice. It was just natural!
With plenty of projects to manage at one time, I need to be reactive and efficient. Tracktion’s pure, single screen interface allows me to test plug-ins, sounds and many different mixes – I go back and forth really fast and it’s just fun.
