Pianist Cancels USA Tour.
Jazz pianist and wife of singer Elvis Costello, Diana Krall is canceling her American tour to give herself time to recuperate from pneumonia. The tour was scheduled to start on 7th November in Phoenix, Arizona and has also been forced to put off the release of her new album, “Wallflower,” from 21st October to 3rd February. She Tweeted to break the news.
Krall’s upcoming CD is a collection of cover songs from the 1960s to present day. “Wallflower” includes tracks by the Mamas and the Papas, the Eagles, Bob Dylan and Elton John as well as a new song by Paul McCartney.
Krall addressed the news on her website: “Performing is both a privilege and a joy for me,” she wrote. “When I go out on stage I want to be able to give it everything. Taking this time to rest and recuperate will allow me to do that. It is frustrating to be so close to the record release and have to delay but I am very proud of this record and want to be able to give you all my very best when we finally present this music to you. Thank you so much for your understanding.”
