Jamie Cullum piano won by Swindon Music School

A school in Swindon has done a great job and managed to win a ‘grand’ prize –  jazz pianists Jamie Cullum’s grand piano after writing a song about it. Piano player Jamie Cullum donated his most prized possession, his grand piano, to Commonweal School in Swindon. A You Tube video by the Commonweal School won a public vote on the musician’s website. Cullum had asked any school, community centre or good cause which wanted the gift to send in a submission

The Yamaha piano has been used by the singer-songwriter for the past 10 years. He performed ‘Lovesick Blues’ with students from the winning school on the BBC and explained why he gave the piano away.
