Propellerhead the software and music company is to go its separate way from Sound Technology in a move, which will see the firm supply direct to the UK. Effective February 1st, the change sees the end of the distribution agreement between Propellarhead and Sound Technology. Richard Johnstone will assume the role of partner marketing manager and take on sales and marketing duties in the UK.
“We have enjoyed a very successful relationship with Sound Technology over several years and thank them for their involvement in contributing towards the growth and success of the Propellerhead brand in the UK,” commented Johnstone. “As the Propellerhead business continues to grow and the company launches a new line of online tools and services for music collaboration sharing, it’s important we invest in having a direct relationship with our customers in the UK, in what is an important and influential market, as we further expand our product offerings for computer and mobile music makers.”
David Marshall, managing director of Sound Technology also commented, “Sound Technology would like to thank our customers and resellers for their support of Propellerhead during our distribution of the brand and hope the support and service we have provided has been valuable. Digital distribution has doubtless impacted the traditional sales channel for software and, although naturally disappointed, we are understanding of Propellerhead’s decision.”
