The Musician’s DAW Adds Features and Gains Power

Following a four-month public beta test period, the full release version of Tracktion 6 music production software is now available. The intuitive, single-screen DAW program has been steadily gaining worldwide popularity since it was purchased from LOUD Technologies by Tracktion Corporation – a group headed by original Tracktion developer, Julian Storer.

Widely known as “The Musician’s DAW” because of its accessible design, operational simplicity and affordable price, Tracktion 6 is the most ambitious update of the platform so far. It continues the Tracktion tradition of providing powerful, creative tools that enable musicians to compose, record, edit and mix their music. Many key features have been upgraded while new features and a ground-breaking customization portal have been added. As with earlier versions, Tracktion 6 is available at the remarkable bargain of US$60 per license (US$30 upgrades).

Tracktion 6 includes dozens of new features and enhancements. Highlights include Z-Plane’s Elastique Pro, the world’s best time stretch algorithm; Warp Time audio editing, Tracktion’s time correction tool kit; tape-style start/stop effect handles for audio clips; dedicated submix and automation tracks; comprehensive tagging editor plus track tagging; an upgraded plugin management system; a new “super comp” audio compiling tool and much more! Tracktion 6 also includes MARKETPLACE, a new in-app retail portal which allows the audition, purchase, download and installation of assets such as plug-ins, sounds and instruments without leaving the project currently underway.

“We’re in the process of building what we consider to be the ideal DAW environment for musicians,” explained Tracktion founder, Julian Storer. “This is distinguished from typical DAW’s which are better suited to recording engineers. As musicians ourselves, we wanted a platform for quickly and easily recording song ideas, building on those ideas, editing and mixing them without technical barriers stifling creativity.”
