Casio pushes Grand Hybrid tour

Casio’s latest initiative celebrates the achievements of teachers and their determination to motivate students all over the UK. #ActionInMusic focusses on the work of music teachers nationwide and aims to get more people involve in music making. Last month, we reported that Casio has teamed up with former music teacher and twice Mercury-nominated Laura Mvula to launch Classic FM and ABRSM’s Music Teacher of the Year Awards 2017.

The Awards form part of Casio’s #ActionInMusic initiative and will be presented at a major event at the Barbican Centre on 7th July 2017. The piano maker is now doing a regional tour of the UK, visiting schools and shopping centres to raise awareness of the initiative and showcase the Celviano Grand Hybrid.

Recent stops on the tour include the Cambridge International School and The Leys School.

Casio has created a series of short films during the tour, with the most recent episode showcasing the piano at The Grand Arcade Shopping Centre in Cambridge. The centre is only a short step away from the historic Kings’ College Chapel, famed for its evensong services, which has performed rich choral music through out the ages.

“The City’s musical history lent itself perfectly for us to showcase the musical talents of the local community and our latest  Grand Hybrid models (adept enough to realise the most technical of classical pieces),” explained Casio.

“Our partner retailer for the event was Millers Music, a retailer also steeped in the musical tradition of the City. All that was left to do was invite local students from The Leys School to wow and delight us with their musicality, passion for creating music and provide their own insights into the action and sound of Celviano Grand Hybrid piano.”

This weekend (Saturday 26th November) Casio will be giving an exclusive piano performance at the Olympia Ideal Home Show at Christmas in London. Pianist and composer Okiem will perform and the Grand Hybrid at 12 noon and 5pm.

As this is Casio’s first Ideal Home Show, the firm has partnered with one of its most experienced and reputable music retailer’s ‘Bonners Music’ to provide promotions exclusive to Ideal Home visitors, including 0% finance offers to ensure there is an accessible piano option for the family, music student, hobbyist, and professional pianist alike.
